Babylon 5‘s J. Michael Straczynski is teaming up with Andy and Lana (formerly Larry) Wachowski (directors of the upcoming Cloud Atlas movie, and now trading under the name Wachowski Starship!) on Sense8, a mysterious new SF TV show being touted to the US TV networks.

According to Variety, Straczynski will be lead writer and showrunner on the series, while the Wachowskis would direct several episodes. As a package, they’re bound to get serious interest in the project.

Straczynski is also in development on a new telling of the Dracula story for Starz (once home of Torchwood) and he has a medical themed thriller under way at ABC. Following Cloud Atlas, the Wachowskis are committed to their next movie, Jupiter Ascending.
