Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

Katee Sackhoff, still best known to genre fans for her role as Starbuck on the revamped Battlestar Galactica, has signed up for Oculus, the horror film which will see Karen Gillan in her first major role after departing Doctor Who in next week’s The Angels Take Manhattan.

According to the report at Deadline, Sackhoff will play Marie, the mother of Gillan’s character Kaylie, in flashback sequences set before Kaylie and her brother are orphaned. The movie is written by Jeff Howard and Mike Flanagan, with the latter in the director’s chair.
