J.J. Abrams and J.H. Wyman have been looking beyond the final season of Fringe, which begins soon on Fox, and have sold a new SF project to the network.
Wyman is scripting the as-yet untitled pilot, an action-packed buddy cop show, set in the near future, when all LAPD officers are partnered with highly evolved human-like androids. Abrams, Bryan Burk and Wyman will executive produce the project for Bad Robot which has a pilot production commitment.
Howard Gordon and Josh Friedman have sold a similar futuristic drama to NBC: their story is described as a thriller soap set not too far in the future, where human-looking robots are commonplace. The first robot-on-human murder is just the beginning of a growing robot rebellion.
