It seems as if the Daredevil reboot for Fox, which needs to enter production this year, or the studio’s rights to the Marvel character will revert to Disney, is not going to happen, at least under A-Team director Joe Carnahan.
“I think my idea for a certain retro, red-suited, Serpico-styled superhero went up in smoke today kids,” Carnahan tweeted on August 14, suggesting that Daredevil will now be able to form part of the larger Marvel film universe. Of course, Fox’s rejection of Carnahan’s suggested approach to the character doesn’t mean that Disney will do the same, but it seems likely that Fox will only retain rights to The Fantastic Four and The X-Men.
