The US SyFy channel has green lit a 90 minute pilot film for a proposed TV series based on John Christopher’s (pictured) The Lotus Caves. Pushing Daisies‘ Bryan Fuller will be producing the pilot movie which is based on a novel by the author of The Tripods. Fuller is also currently working on a revised The Munsters TV series, called Mockingbird Lane, and a TV show based upon the character of Hannibal Lector from The Silence of the Lambs.
The Lotus Caves follows the adventures of two teenagers living on a moon colony in the year 2068. Exploring beyond the dome habitat that is all they’ve ever known, they discover alien life lurking in the lunar caves…
Pushing Daisies‘ writer Jim Danger Gray is writing the pilot script and the hope is that the movie can be spun-off into an on-going series. The TV movie could be titled High Moon.
