After years of start-stop development Warner Bros. adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower extensive novel series looks likely to get the go-ahead in the next few weeks following a new screenplay from Fringe‘s Akiva Goldsman and the interest of Gladiator‘s Russell Crowe in starring as Deschain, the supernatural gunslinger.
The ambitious version of King’s nine-book series is due to encompass a trilogy of movies and two limited-run TV series, possibly on HBO, home of Game of Thrones. The two TV series would run between the three movies.
This is just too awesome for words. Russel Crowe as The Gunslinger! Yeah!
