Although there were multiple reports around the internet last month that a TV series based on William Friedkin’s 1973 film The Exorcist was in development, the director himself has told Digital Spy that they are not true. “It’s not happening,” he said. “It’s a load of bollocks… It would be ludicrous. It would be just a bunch of lies.”
Original author William Peter Blatty, who owns the rights to the source material, has also stated that a TV series is not in the works.
