This year didn’t see the strongest showing by genre shows at the BAFTAs, but in addition to the special award given to Steven Moffat by the stars of his two shows, Matt Smith and Benedict Cumberbatch, BBC Three’s underestimated series The Fades won Best Drama.

Unfortunately cancelled by the BBC after only one series, the apocalyptic series at least can take comfort that it has been given some appreciation. Is it really too late for the Beeb to change their minds?
