Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

Rockne S. O’Bannon’s new Syfy series Defiance has added two new castmembers, as production gears up for filming in Toronto.

According to the Deadline report, Mia Kirshner (The Vampire Diaries, The L Word) and Fionnula Flanagan (Lost) have joined the cast. Kirshner will play the madam, Kenya, a self-assured, dauntless woman who is devoted to the frontier town of Defiance while Flanagan will be Nicky, the popular ex-mayor of the town whose expertise from her years on the job have made her a trusted mentor to Julie Benz’s character, her successor, Amanda.
