Within a few hours of the release of a trailer for the CGI heavy Battlestar Galactica prequel Blood and Chrome, starring Luke Pasqualino as William Adama, it has been confirmed that the show will not be proceeding forwards as a TV series.

The pilot movie will get an airing though, Syfy President Mark Stern has confirmed. “Though the vision for Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome has evolved over the course of the past year, our enthusiasm for this ambitious project has not waned. We are actively pursuing it as was originally intended: a groundbreaking digital series that will launch to audiences beyond the scope of a television screen. The 90-minute pilot movie will air on Syfy in its entirety at a future date.”

The trailer was in fact unofficial – according to Deadline, the video was  “a demo reel not intended for public consumption and thus not put through the process of clearing music and other rights”, and has been taken down from many sites.
