Entertainment Weekly has published the first image of actor Stephen Amell (Private Practice) as the title character in The CW’s new comic book-inspired superhero show Arrow.

Designed by Oscar-winner Colleen Atwood, the Green Arrow character (previously seen in a different version in Smallville) will debut in a “darker and harder edged” show, according to pilot episode director David Nutter.
