Filming on the next series of Doctor Who recently wrapped in Spain, with cast and crew returning to Cardiff to continue production on the much-anticipated seventh season of the revived BBC hit.

Filming took place in the Almeria region of Spain, including at the famous Fort Bravo Studios, used for a number of classic Western movies. Alongside the regular cast, guest stars appearing in Spain included Star Wars’ Garrick Hagon and Rob Cavazos. Farscape’s Ben Browder is believed to be playing a robotic gunslinger in the Western-set adventure. Photos of the production, including several of 11th Doctor actor Matt Smith on horseback, appeared on the internet. However, the BBC have so far released only one official image (right) featuring Amy actress Karen Gillan.

The new series of Doctor Who is expected to be transmitted on BBC One this autumn.
