The battle between the descendants of the storytelling Grimm clan and the various creatures in and around Portland, Oregon is set to continue into a second year, with NBC giving an early renewal to fantasy series Grimm.

The news was broken by writer Akela Cooper, who tweeted, “Walk into the office this morning & our showrunners David Greenwalt & Jim Kouf tell me the good news: #Grimm is picked up 4 a second season!” The series has scored well with time-shifted audiences, gaining 61 percent among the key 18-49 demographic from “live plus seven days” figures.
