Welsh actor Philip Madoc, who played multiple roles on Doctor Who in his long career, died March 5, aged 77.
Madoc’s first appearance was in the second Doctor Who big screen feature, Daleks: Invasion Earth 2150 AD, and featured in two Patrick Troughton serials, The Krotons and The War Games, as well as two Tom Baker stories, The Brain of Morbius and The Power of Kroll. He lent his voice to the Big Finish drama Master.
He also appeared in Space: 1999 and was one of the stars of Doctor Who producer Philip Hinchcliffe’s series Target.
He is probably best known for his roles as a captured U-Boat captain in the Dad’s Army episode The Deadly Attachment and as DCI Noel Bain in the detective series A Mind to Kill.
