According to the show’s creator Ryan Murphy, award-winning actress Jessica Lange will be “making an appearance” during the second season of American Horror Story.

Although each season of the show is designed to be a self-contained unit, Murphy has previously said that some cast members may turn up in later years, although probably playing different roles. While appearing on chat show Watch What Happens Live, Murphy said Lange would return and that he is in discussions with four other cast members (but not those who played the Harmon family at the heart of the first season). He also suggested that the second season would be based on the East Coast and involve “a horror institution”.

According to Entertainment Weekly, 20th Century Fox has yet to sign a deal with Lange.
