Doctor Who has been voted Virgin Media TV Show of the Year for 2011 in the just-announced Virgin Media Awards.

Arthur Darvill’s Rory Williams was TV Character of the Year, while the moment the Doctor was shot in the opening episode of the sixth series was hailed as Most Explosive TV Moment. Karen Gillan is officially the Hottest Female of 2011 as well as being Best Actress, while Merlin‘s King Arthur, Bradley James, is the Hottest Male and his co-star Colin Morgan is Best Actor. Merlin was also acclaimed as the Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show and Katie McGrath is Best Baddy for her role as the evil Morgana.

Misfits’ newcomer Joseph Gilgun won Best Newbie for his role as Rudy, while American Horror Story won Most Bonkers TV show.
