Following his successful turn as the ancient Volturi vampire Marcus in the Twilight series of movies, Sanctuary star Christopher Heyerdahl has signed up to play another ancient bloodsucker in season five of True Blood.

Heyerdahl will play the recurring role of Dieter Braun, “an ancient, powerful vampire who plays a large part in the intelligence of the Authority and especially enjoys enhanced interrogation,” according to the report at Deadline.com. He is also appearing in the AMC period drama Hell on Wheels, which was recently renewed for a second season.
