Actor and presenter Bob Holness, best known for his work on the quiz show Blockbusters, has died, aged 83.
Holness holds the distinction of being the second ever actor to portray Ian Fleming’s secret agent, James Bond, when he appeared in an adaptation of Fleming’s third 007 novel Moonraker on the radio in his native South Africa. Barry Nelson was the first Bond, starring in a TV version of the agent’s debut novel Casino Royale.
After moving to England, Holness became a respected radio and TV personality, with his last appearance in a special edition of Blockbusters in 2004.
