Noel Clarke, best known to genre fans for his stint playing Mickey Smith on the revived series of Doctor Who, has joined the cast of J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek sequel, according to a report at Variety.
Clarke will play a family man with a wife and young daughter in the new movie, which is expected to start shooting later this month. No further details of his role are yet known.
The British actor is the third guest star confirmed for the film, alongside Alice Eve and Peter Weller. The as yet untitled sequel is scheduled to open on May 17, 2013.
