Paramount Pictures have moved their sequel to the 2009 Star Trek movie to May 17, 2013, and have announced that it will be shot and released in 3D.

J.J. Abrams will once again helm the adventures of Captain Kirk and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, from a script by Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof. According to reports at unofficial Trek news site Trekmovie.com, filming will begin on January 15, 2012, with some scenes shot in Hawaii. All key cast members from the first movie, including Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban and Zoe Saldana, will be returning.
