Fringe writer/producer Andrew Kreisberg is penning an adaptation of the DC character Booster Gold for Syfy as a potential one hour show.
The character was created by Dan Jurgens in 1986 as a failed sports star from the 25th Century who travelled back in time to become a superhero, with an emphasis on the fame and wealth that the role would bring. Although Booster Gold eventually became a member of the Justice League, and leads the Justice League International in the recent reboot of the DC Universe, the TV version for Greg Berlanti’s Berlanti Productions will return to the character’s roots, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Booster Gold made an appearance in the episode Booster in Smallville‘s final season and has turned up in animated form on various occasions.
