John Neville, who had a long and distinguished career before achieving fame with genre fans as Baron Munchausen in Terry Gilliam’s fantasy adventure, has succumbed to Alzheimers at the age of 86.
The British born actor moved to Canada in 1972, and held numerous theatrical posts, including artistic director of the Stratford Festival of Canada from 1985-1989. His film and television work included playing Sherlock Holmes in the Jack the Ripper story A Study in Terror, appearing as The Well-Manicured Man in the TV and film incarnations of The X-Files, and portraying Sir Isaac Newton for an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
