Steven Soderbergh’s long-gestating adaptation of the 1960s hit series The Man From UNCLE seems to have come to the end of the road, according to reports emerging today.

According to Deadline, Soderbergh has “dropped out of the project because he and Warner Bros couldn’t agree on budget,” although George Clooney’s decision not to take on the role of Napoleon Solo in August made many people suspect that the project was heading for development hell. A-Team star Bradley Cooper was apparently discussing playing the lead, but recently he too decided the project was not for him.
