The Showtime adaptation of Stephen King’s mammoth novel Under the Dome has finally got a writer, with comicbook scribe and Lost alumnus Brian K. Vaughan set to turn the thousand page novel into a workable miniseries screenplay.

According to Deadline’s report, the Dreamworks series will be Showtime’s first foray into the genre field since the end of the supernatural series Dead Like Me, which finished in 2003. Vaughan is best known for his work on the comic books Y: The Last Man, various X-Men series and Ex Machina, as well as his writing and producing credits on years three to five of Lost.
