Captain America‘s Hayley Atwell has joined David Morrissey and Hugh Bonneville in the cast of The Return of Captain Nemo, the 3D steampunk sequel that starts shooting in January.

Atwell will play the film’s heroine, Sara, the niece of Morrissey’s character, the chief advisor to US President Ulysses S. Grant. Nemo, played by Bonneville, is released from prison to investigate mysterious sightings of “sea monsters” which are sinking shipping.

The $10 million movie will be shot in Romania, entirely on greenscreen, and features some impressive designs, including an early version of Air Force One (above)
