It was only a few weeks ago that we reported that the Harry Potter team of David Yates and Steve Kloves were reuniting to work on Warner Bros. adaptation of Stephen King’s magnum opus, The Stand, but now it seems as if Argo director Ben Affleck is going to be responsible for the project.

According to a report at Deadline.com over the weekend, Affleck will adapt and direct the project as he has become a “cornerstone director” for the studio. Deadline’s brief report makes no mention of the Yates/Kloves version.
