After various reports over the past few days suggesting that Paramount Pictures were discussing a potential fourth and fifth Transformers movie with director Michael Bay and producer Steven Spielberg, Bay has issued a statement confirming that he is sticking to his original announcement, and will not be directing any new film based on the Hasbro toys.

“I am currently not talking to Paramount on T4 and T5 despite reports. I’m looking at a lot of possibilities coming my way right now weighing options. Most likely going to be doing the low budget Pain and Gain, a true story crime thriller. It’s a very quick shoot and quite funny. Also just finishing the 3 disc set of the Transformer trilogy,” he posted on the Shoot the Edit message boards.

With Megan Fox absent from the last film, and Shia LeBeouf already stating that he would not continue past the third movie, this leaves the studio and toy company with the option of completely rebooting the series under a new director.
