It was a mixed night for Doctor Who fans at the Scream Awards held on October 15 in Los Angeles: although both Matt Smith and Karen Gillan had been nominated for Best Science Fiction Actor/Actress, and the show present in the Best TV Show category, only Smith’s portrayal of the Doctor was successful.
Fans of Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows Part 2 supported the final movie in their favourite franchise. The film won the Ultimate Scream Award, as well as Best Scream-Play, Best Fantasy Actor (Daniel Radcliffe), Best Villain (Ralph Fiennes), the Holy Shit Award for the Room of Requirement scene, and Best F/X.
Game of Thrones was hailed Best TV Show, with Peter Dinklage receiving another honour to follow his Emmy as Best Supporting Actor and Emillia Clarke winning Best Breakout Performance (Female).
