A powerhouse of figures in the fantasy and science fiction film world have got together to create Ex-Comm, a new sci-fi drama set in the White House.

According to the exclusive report at Deadline.com, Superman Returns writer Michael Dougherty and Robot Chicken‘s Seth Green brought the idea to Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman’s K/O Paper Products, and they interested their Cowboys & Aliens director Jon Favreau in the idea while on tour promoting that earlier this summer. Ex-Comm has a “put pilot” commitment at ABC,home of Orci and Kurtzman’s earlier hit Alias.

Ex-Comm is described as a “present-day presidential procedural” combining elements of The West Wing and The X-Files. Deadline says that “It follows a newly-elected President and his top secret “Executive Committee” (a.k.a. Ex-Comm), the government’s covert team of America’s most elite minds who investigate and protect our nation from the strangest occurrences and “conspiracy theory truths” out there.”
