According to a report at Deadline.com, former Star Trek: Deep Space Nine producer Ira Steven Behr will not be producing the recently announced second season of Syfy’s Alphas.

No reason for the departure is given in the brief report, but his replacement as showrunner will be Eureka‘s Bruce Miller, who also worked on The 4400s, ER and Medium.

In an interview StarTrek.com in July Behr was asked whether he would stick around for a couple of years if the show were renewed and replied, “I certainly don’t intend for this to be a one and out, but we’re well in the thick of it right now. We are dead-smack in the middle of it. So just get me through one season at a time.”
