It sounds as if Hollywood’s latest hot writer, Scott Z. Burns, is in the frame for writing the screenplay for Ridley Scott’s new version of Blade Runner.
Burns is currently working with Contagion director Steven Soderbergh again on the reboot of The Man from U.N.C.L.E., as well as 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea with David Fincher. Twitch is suggesting that he’s Ridley Scott’s choice to come on board the new Blade Runner project, which, as we reported earlier, is coming from Alcon Entertainment. It’s described as a “follow-up” to the original film, but even Alcon are still unsure whether it’ll be a prequel, sequel, or new interpretation of Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
