Only a few days after they announced they were working on Hyde, an update of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, ABC has bought a second modern-day version of the tale.
According to Deadline, Jekyll & Hyde, written by The Sorcerer’s Apprentice‘s Matt Lopez, is “a suspenseful, darkly romantic retelling of the classic tale with a unique sci-fi twist”, which the website understands may be related to cloning. This version will be set in San Francisco, focusing on a female criminal psychologist who becomes involved with the life of a “brilliant but inhibited scientist and his volatile alter ego.”
