According to co-executive producer Raelle Tucker, a “very familiar and compelling character” will be joining the regular cast of True Blood‘s fifth season, following the shocking events of the fourth season finale.

Speaking to EW.com, Tucker said that this character “will be a very significant, strong, mysterious woman at the center of one of our main stories next year,” who “may be someone you have heard of before.” There will also be more attention focused on the fairy world “in a way you haven’t really seen fairies.”

Tucker also promised that the effects of Sookie’s choice between Bill and Eric in the finale will carry over into the fifth year, as will fall-out from the two vampires’ other decisions. “The consequences of their actions in the finale are going to chase them for a while next year.”
