IMPORTANT UPDATE: PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EXHIBITION HAS NOW CLOSED
Award winning art gallery Generation Pop will be hosting an exhibition of the official Star Trek fine art collection this September, to mark the show’s 45th anniversary.
Fans from all over the UK will be donning costumes to attend the invitation-only launch event on September 8 – the actual anniversary of the show’s premiere on NBC in 1966 – with a number of Star Trek artists also in attendance. The exhibition will be open to the public from September 9.
Artwork being flown over Los Angeles and New York will include illustrative pieces from Ryan Church, who created some of the concept artwork for the 2009 Star Trek film, as well as from Geoffrey Mandel who has worked on a number of Star Trek films and TV series. Mandel has created a map of the Star Trek universe, limited to just 45 worldwide especially for the anniversary.
The gallery can be found at New York Street, Manchester, M1 4BD; the exhibition is free.
