The Sector, a science fiction action series from Ridley and Tony Scott’s Scott Free Productions and Germany’s Tandem Communications, may be moving across to the Discovery Science channel, after Cinemax passed on taking the project further.
Created by Aaron Benay and Matthew Benay, The Sector follows the commander of a paramilitary unit who is chasing after a race of genetically-enhanced humans. According to Deadline.com, the show had been picked up for a pilot script and a bible back in April, but Cinemax decided not to pursue the action-crime show, since they already have Strike Back and The Transporter in production. The website suggests that Discovery Science (formerly known as the Science Channel) may invest in the project, capitalising on the success of their reruns of Joss Whedon’s Firefly earlier this year.
