Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that sci-fi veteran Malcolm McDowell is leading the cast for Syfy’s new film of The Philadelphia Experiment, which will shoot in Vancouver and premiere on the channel next year.

McDowell will be joined by The X-Files’ Nicholas Lea, Flash Gordon‘s Gina Holden, Sanctuary‘s Ryan Robbins and Emilie Ullerup, and  Michael Paré, who starred in the 1984 movie version of The Philadelphia Experiment.

Based on the urban legend of a Navy ship that was turned invisible during the Second World War, the 2012 Philadephia Experiment will see scientists try to replicate the experiment. Unfortunately they succeed in bringing the original ship forward seventy years with deadly consequences.
