Heroes and Star Trek star Zachary Quinto is in negotiations to join the cast of FX’s American Horror Story.

According to a report at Deadline.com, the actor who shot to fame as the villainous Sylar on Heroes would join the show for at least four episodes, beginning with the series’ two-part Halloween special, airing on October 26 and 31. He will play Chad, the gay former owner of the house who becomes friends with Connie Britton’s character Vivien Harmon.

Quinto is currently awaiting the start of filming on the new Star Trek feature, which is anticipated to begin shooting early in 2012, reprising his role of the Enterprise‘s Vulcan science officer, Mr. Spock. American Horror Story starts on October 5 on FX.
