A short trailer has been released for Aliens: Colonial Marines, which continues the story of Aliens eleven months after the events of James Cameron’s 1986 movie.

The squad-based first person shooter game follows a colonial marine search and rescue team who have been despatched to discover the fate of Ellen Ripley and the marines sent to LV-426 in the movie. The game uses sound effects and visuals from the first two films, while adding more than a few surprises of its own.

Aliens: Colonial Marines has been developed by Gearbox Software for Sega, and is set for release in spring next year.
