HBO has confirmed that the second season of Game of Thrones will again include location filming away from the show’s Belfast base.

Season 1 saw scenes shot in Malta, and the second year will feature material filmed in Croatia and Iceland. The former will represent the Southern locations, while Iceland will stand in for scenes set in the uncharted land beyond the Wall in the north of Westeros.

The second season has been filming for the last month, and will be broadcast by HBO and Sky Atlantic next year.
