Alison Scagliotti, who plays whizkid Claudia Donovan on Syfy’s hit series Warehouse 13, is hoping to show a different side to her character in the show’s fourth season.

Speaking to Fangoria, Scagliotti said she thinks her character has “earned the right to go to the dark side for a bit…. She can lose herself in the darkness.” However she did emphasise that she didn’t want this to be a permanent move.

Commenting that in the past she’s “got parts based on bra size,” Scagliotti praised the writers on Warehouse 13 for creating a rounded character.  “I love that the writers didn’t apologize for her,” she said. “She’s been through really dark times, being in a mental institution, searching desperately for her brother. She was doing it all on her own, without any help. Here’s this really independent, funny, sarcastic, deeply insecure, scared and vulnerable character.”

Warehouse 13 continues on Syfy US on Monday evenings; and on Syfy UK Thursdays.
