Evil Dead and Burn Notice star Bruce Campbell has confirmed that he is part of his buddy Sam Raimi’s new take on the Oz mythos, Oz, The Great and Powerful.

“I. Am. In. Oz.” the actor tweeted yesterday. “Sam Raimi refuses to tell me what character I will portray. Just know that the role is PIVOTAL.”

Oz, The Great and Powerful is a prequel to the best-known of L. Frank Baum’s Oz tales, and stars Rise of the Planet of the Apes‘s James Franco as a younger version of the Wizard seen in the original film, who ends up in the land of Oz following a ballooning accident. Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams, Zach Braff and Joey King also star in the Disney production, which is set for release on March 8, 2013.
