Following the success of The Walking Dead, Dimension Films are considering a TV series based on the David Cronenberg film Scanners, to which they hold the rights.

Dimension have been working on a remake of the 1981 horror classic for some time, with David S. Goyer involved with scripting a movie for Saw II‘s Darren Lynn Bousman as director. However these plans have not materialised, and now according to Deadline.com, The Hills Have Eyes‘ writer-director Alexandre Aja and Dimension boss Bob Weinstein came up with the idea of a TV version, with Aja attached as executive producer and potential pilot director.
