Multi-award winning Canadian author Robert J. Sawyer confirmed today (July 13) that an adaptation of his WWW trilogy is being developed for television.
The trilogy, comprising Wake, Watch and Wonder, tells of the growth of Webmind, a consciousness from within the internet. According to Sawyer, he will be an Executive Producer on the Original Pictures, Inc., production, alongside Nicholas Hirst and Kim Todd, and he will script the pilot. Although the author noted on his Facebook page that it’s “still a long way from being on the air (and we don’t yet have a broadcaster)”, he admitted that he was thrilled by the news.
Sawyer’s novel FlashForward formed the basis of the recent show starring Joseph Fiennes.
