Not content with playing vampire Barnabas Collins in the upcoming Tim Burton directed movie of Dark Shadows, Johnny Depp has signed up to resurrect another long-gone US TV supernatural icon.

Depp’s Infinitum Nihil production company has teamed up with Disney to develop a movie version of the first Kolchak TV movie, The Night Stalker, that starred Darren McGavin as the disheveled news reporter involved in vanquishing the supernatural.

Disney may be eyeing a Depp-driven Kolchak movie series as a replacement for the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
