Fringe star John Noble has confirmed that the Fox series will “reset” for its fourth series, following the shift in reality at the end of the third year.
With the disappearance of Peter Bishop from existence in the third series finale, all the characters’ histories will be changed, and Noble told TV Line that there will be “nine episodes in a sort of package” to kick off the fourth year. He has previously commented on the complexity of the show, noting that “the bottom line of television is income. One of the issues with Fringe now is that you can’t just turn it on and watch it. In the first season, you could because it was more procedural.”
Noble also anticipates that the writers will make the two versions of his character Walter Bishop work together at some point soon. “It doesn’t make sense for them not to, ultimately,” he said. “But it won’t be easy.”
