According to Stargate Universe star Alaina Huffman, the two proposed TV movies that would have wrapped up the Stargate TV franchise are no longer going to be shot.

Speaking at Wizard World ComicCon in Philadelphia, Huffman suggested that the first film would wrap up the two season-old Stargate Universe, while the other would have featured castmembers from all three iterations of the franchise. “They tried very hard to put a movie together,” she said. “I thought that would have been a really great way to close out the series. To me, it’s really unfortunate that the franchise didn’t get the opportunity… to finish off the story.”

Huffman said that the second film would have been shot in Hawaii, but said that she didn’t know “why they couldn’t get the funding, but they couldn’t.” The actress suggested that Spyglass Entertainment, who bought out MGM recently, “is not interested in Stargate so therefore would not fund movies.”
