Clark Gregg’s Agent of SHIELD is set to feature in bonus short films, which Marvel Studios are planning to include with the DVD and Blu ray releases of Thor and Captain America.

According to a report at Film School Rejects, the shorts will centre around Gregg’s character Phil Coulson, who first appeared in the original Iron Man film, and returned in Thor. He is also due to take part in The Avengers, which is currently being filmed by Joss Whedon. The website suggests that Marvel may use similar shorts to spotlight other second-tier heroes, with the films possibly getting theatrical release alongside the major blockbusters.

A Thor sequel has already been announced by Marvel and Disney for 2013, and work is continuing on a third Iron Man movie as well as a follow-up to Captain America.
