True Blood star Stephen Moyer won for Best Actor in Television, while Best Guest Starring Role in Television went to True Blood guest actor Joe Manganiello.
Zombie drama The Walking Dead laid claim to Best Television Presentation for the pilot episode, while Best Supporting Actress in Television went to Xena actress Lucy Lawless for Spartacus: Blood and Sand.
Christopher Nolan’s Inception claimed five awards: Best Science Fiction Film, Best Director, Best Writing, Best Music for composer Hans Zimmer and Best Special Effects. Jeff Bridges won Best Actor for his dual role in Tron: Legacy, while Natalie Portman was awarded Best Actress for Black Swan. Chloe Moritz won Best Performance by a Younger Actor for her role in Let Me In. Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland was named Best Fantasy Film. The low-budget Monsters won the Best International Film prize.
Special Achievement awards went to filmmaker Dean Devlin, Marvel’s Kevin Feige, The Walking Dead‘s Frank Darabont (the George Pal Memorial Award), fantasy filmmaker Bert I. Gordon and Terminator star Michael Biehn (both winning Life Career awards).
The 37th annual Saturn Awards were presented by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films.
