Smallville, Star Trek and Caprica stars will all be lending their talents to the third season of Syfy’s hit series Warehouse 13.

Smallville‘s Aaron Ashmore will have a recurring role as ATF agent Steve Jinks, a human polygraph, who is partnered with Eddie McClintock’s Agent Pete Latimer, following the departure of Agent Myka Bening (Joanne Kelly) at the conclusion of the second season. Officially, Myka’s status has not yet been revealed, although various hints have been dropped by members of the production that suggest she is returning.

Star Trek: Voyager‘s Kate Mulgrew and Jeri Ryan will both be making guest appearances. Speaking to TV Guide, executive producer Jack Kenny said that Mulgrew will be seen in four episodes as Jane, a Warehouse protector. “I was an original Star Trek fan and loved the movies,” he noted.  “I remember loving when they cast a female captain of the Enterprise (sic) and have found her work incredibly deep, thoughtful and compelling to watch. I’m thrilled to have her play a character who will play such an important overall role in our series.”

Former Borg Ryan will be playing Amanda who “has a past with someone in the Warehouse,” according to Kenny.

Caprica stars Sasha Roiz and Alessandra Torresani are also turning up. “Sasha is a mysterious part of our Big Bad for the year,” Kenny said. “His character is Marcus Diamond and first shows up in episode three. Alessandra guest stars as a girl in trouble in our ninth episode who needs Myka and Claudia’s help.”

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine‘s Rene Auberjonois and former Bionic Woman Lindsay Wagner will be reprising their roles as Hugo Miller and Vanessa Calder.

In addition to the 13 episodes of the third series, a spin-off, featuring Jaime Murray’s character H.G. Wells, is also being developed, in which H.G. Wells will team up with a mechanical engineer and use both her scientific knowledge and her relationship with the commissioner of police to solve complex cases.

An original Warehouse 13 novel, A Touch of Fever by Greg Cox, is released this month.

Series 3 begins on Syfy in the U.S. on July 11, and later in the summer on Syfy UK
