John Pearson, who wrote biographies of both Ian Fleming and James Bond, has died aged 91.
Fellow Bond author Raymond Benson confirmed the news on social media. Pearson wrote James Bond: The Authorised Biography which suggested Fleming had based the character on a real agent, and provided an alternate take on the 007 canon. He had previously written one of the first biographies of Fleming himself. He also wrote a fictional biography of Biggles.
